Disclaimer: All games are considered strictly games of skill. NationalFantasyLeagues recognizes games of skill as games where the elements of skill are clearly predominate over those of chance. Awards go to the persons most skilled in compiling a fantasy team.
Disclaimer: The rules governing contests, and tournaments with entry fees and/or prizes are set up by each individual state, not by the federal government. Based on these 50 sets of laws, NationalFantasyLeagues.com CANNOT offer fee-based tournaments with prizes to residents of the following states: Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana & Vermont. Users from these states and other jurisdictions have been blocked from participation..Note: If your league is partially full by draft time, your league will be combined to form a complete league.
All of NationalFantasyLeagues Fantasy Football leagues will hold a LIVE ONLINE DRAFT. When your draft is set to begin, choose the OWNERS option from the menu on your leagues home page. Then select the DRAFT option. This will take you to the Live Online Draft Room. Once there, login to your franchise and you will be ready to draft, or if you like, perform a pre-draft. (We strongly suggest that you familiarize yourself with the Live Online Draft Room and the pre-drafting process before your draft actually begins.) Each owner will have the opportunity to pre-draft for any round before and during the draft. We recommend pre-drafting, because it speeds up the draft and enables owners to be prepared when it is their turn to draft. Owners should try to arrive 10 minutes before their draft is scheduled to begin.
Owners will select their players in a serpentine draft. Owners will have 2 minute to make their selection per round. 10 and 12 team league drafts consist of 12 rounds. IDP league drafts consist of 16 rounds. In a serpentine draft, the draft order rotates each round. The team with the first pick of the draft would draft first, the team with the second pick would draft second, and so on through the last pick in the round. In each following round, the order is reversed.
NOTE: Any pre-draft picks submitted by an owner will be selected as soon as it is that owner's turn to pick for that given pick of the draft. In other words, if you have submitted pre-draft picks for round 2 of your draft, as soon as the team before you in round 2 picks, the system will go through your pre-draft list at that time (even if you're actively logged into the draft!) and make your pick for you. If an owner has to step away from his computer for whatever reason during a live draft, he may want to pre-draft for an upcoming round or two while he is away, so the system can automatically make his picks for him. If for any reason an owner does not make their selection before their time is up; as soon as their time expires, our software will automatically select the best available player for that team. HOWEVER, if an owner misses two picks in a row, or three picks total throughout the draft, selections will be automatically made for them from that point on.
Each player can only be on 1 roster per league. Partial Lineups are not allowed. 10-Team Basic leagues have a maximum roster size of 20 players. 10-Team IDP leagues have a maximum roster size of 36 players. 10 Team leagues are allowed to place up to five (5) players on the Practice (taxi) squad.
12-Team Basic leagues have a maximum roster size of 24 players and owners are allowed to place up to two (2) players on the Practice (taxi) squad. 12-Team IDP leagues have a maximum roster size of 36 players and are allowed to place up to four (4) players on the Practice (taxi) squad.
Practice squad players do not count against an owners active roster.

Once a trade is agreed upon by two owners it is executed immediately. Please note that if you propose a trade in the middle of the week, and the other owner agrees to the trade on Sunday at 12:55pm ET, the trade will be executed immediately, and the players involved in the trade immediately switch teams. If the players involved in the trade were in your starting lineup, they will be removed from your starting lineup. It is up to both owners involved in the trade to make the necessary changes to their starting lineup if the trade is accepted.
Trades are not allowed following week 10 of your fantasy league schedule.
If any owner feels that there may be collusion involved in any trades, they have the right to vote to veto the trade. Their vote to veto the trade must be emailed the commissioner within 24 hours of the trade being consummated. The request to veto a trade will be subject to a league wide vote. The trade is automatically rejected if six (6) "Reject" votes are cast (likewise, it will be automatically accepted if enough "Accept" votes are cast). A missing vote from an owner at the time the poll is over is considered an "Accept" vote. If a request to veto a trade is accepted, the trade is immediately reversed and all players involved in the trade will be transferred back to their original teams and scores of those players will also be accounted to the original team.
Waiver requests can be submitted from Sunday's kickoff through Thursday midnight ET. Then first come, first served through kickoff of the first game of the following week. Waivers end on week 17 kickoff.
10-Team Leagues:
Each 10-Team league will hold a four (4) week playoff. A total of six (6) teams will qualify for the playoffs following the regular season. The two (2) division leaders based on won/lost record will be the top 2 seeds along with four (4) wildcard teams. The 2 division winners will receive a first round bye. The wildcard teams will be the teams which possess the best won/lost record regardless of division, excluding the 2 divisional leaders.
12-Team Leagues:
Each 12-Team league will hold a three (3) week playoff. A total of eight (8) teams will qualify for the playoffs following the regular season. The three (3) division leaders based on won/lost record will be the top 3 seeds along with five (5) wildcard teams. The wildcard teams will be the teams which possess the best won/lost record regardless of division, excluding the 3 divisional leaders.
Absent Owners:
If an owner is AWOL, the Commissioner has the discretion to freeze the owners franchise. Franchises that have been frozen by the Commissioner can only be unfrozen by that franchises owner. A written explanation must be submitted to the commissioner prior to the next scheduled week's kickoff. If an explanation is not submitted by the next scheduled week's kickoff time, the franchise will be managed by the Commissioner until a replacement owner is found. Commissioner owned franchises are NOT eligible for cash prizes. Should a Commissioner owned franchise become eligible to receive a cash prize, the prize will be divided evenly among the remaining playoff teams.
Grounds For Removal:
The following conditions classify an owner as AWOL and eligible to have their franchise frozen:
- an owner fails to attend the Live Online Draft for two (2) consecutive seasons
- an owner fails to submit an active starting lineup for more than any three week period in any givenseason.
- continued use of profane or inappropriate language/images on league web sites.
